Assistant General Manager

Location: East West Urban Management 

Employment Type: Full Time, Year Round 

Pay Rate: $60,000 - $65,000 DOE 

Schedule: Full Time (schedule includes weekends) 

Position Purpose/ Summary

The Assistant General Manager is an active participant on the management team.  The AGM will assist the General Manager in the daily operation of the building and take on their responsibilities in their absence.  The AGM’s primary focus will be on front desk operations and staffing. The AGM must be hospitable towards both external and internal customers, professional, assertive and quick thinking as the scope of building, staffing, and resident issues vary from day-to-day.  Must be comfortable working in a continuously changing work environment.

  • All Front Desk processes
  • Staffing, training, coaching, & scheduling of 24hr. front desk
  • The ability to fill in at front desk on 2nd & 3rd shift when necessary
  • Payroll processing
  • Appropriate resolution of referred owner concerns
  • Daily oversight of common areas, including: lobby, hallways, club room & garage
  • Ensuring owners and guests comply with condo declaration, & rules & regulations
  • Special projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to gain & retain trust of internal and external customers.
  • Hands on, no job is beneath me approach to management 
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft applications & office equipment
  • Ability to lift heavy objects when required
  • Ability to work 24/7 based on scheduling needs
  • Other duties as assigned
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred. 
  • Home Owner Association management experience required. 
  • Accreditation with Community Association Institute (CAI) or other Association 
  • Management designations preferred. 
  • Must have good communication skills - written and verbal, as well as excellent listening skills and supervisory skills.  
  • Professional appearance and conduct required. 
  • Candidate must be familiar with and able to use: computer/printer, copiers, phone, and other common office equipment. 
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Must be well organized and be able to prioritize a large number of tasks. 
  • Candidate must be able to work irregular hours when necessary. 
  • Experience developing annual budgeting also preferred. 
  • Position requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, hand-eye-foot coordination, fingering and reaching. Must be able to lift and/or move weights of up to approximately 25 pounds (such as office supplies). Must have good vision and hearing, with corrections is acceptable. Reliable vehicle, driver’s license and insurance required.
