Assistant Human Resources Director - Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa

Help shape the culture behind one of the Vail Valley’s premier luxury resorts as the Assistant Human Resources Director at The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa. This is more than an HR role—it’s an opportunity to influence the associate experience at every level, partnering with leaders across the resort to foster an environment built on hospitality, wellness, engagement, and service excellence. From leadership coaching and employee relations to training, culture-building, and associate support, you’ll play a key role in creating a workplace where people feel empowered, connected, and inspired to deliver exceptional guest experiences every day!

Duties Include:

  • Partner with resort leaders to support employee relations, associate engagement, leadership development, performance management, and team culture initiatives
  • Serve as a trusted HR resource for associates and managers by providing guidance on workplace concerns, conflict resolution, policies, and best practices
  • Support daily HR operations including compliance, investigations, leave administration, workers’ compensation, onboarding, and associate training programs
  • Oversee associate housing operations, helping create a positive and well-supported living experience for team members
  • Lead and support engagement programs, wellness initiatives, recognition efforts, and culture-building activities that strengthen the associate experience across the resort
  • Coach and develop leaders and HR team members while supporting succession planning, talent development, and retention strategies
  • Maintain accurate HR documentation, reporting, and compliance with employment laws, company policies, and Marriott brand standards
  • Act as a visible, approachable HR presence throughout the resort, building strong relationships and fostering an inclusive, service-focused workplace culture

Location: The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa - Avon, CO. Due to the operational and associate-facing nature of the role, remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available.

Employment Type: Full Time, Year Round

Start Date: 7/1/2026

Pay Rate: $100,000 + 10% bonus potential

Schedule: Typically 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday; occasional evenings/weekends/holidays depending on business needs

The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably within hospitality, resort, hotel, or other service-focused environments, along with prior leadership experience coaching and developing teams. A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred, and bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are required.

This individual is approachable, relationship-driven, and highly organized, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on operational support in a fast-paced resort environment. They bring strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, and HR best practices while handling sensitive situations with professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion. Experience with associate housing operations, onboarding, training, and leadership development is strongly preferred, along with proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office. Professional HR certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are a plus. Flexibility to support evenings, weekends, holidays, and a consistent on-site presence is essential to success in this role.
