 The Director of Spa & Fitness strives to deliver health and wellness to guests, members and employees.  Adheres to the vision, culture and direction for the Vail Vitality Center. Encourages excellence in performance from staff. Seeks to maximize revenues for spa, retail and club with a focus on profit to the bottom line. Contributes to the betterment of the local community and the wellness industry.

Essential Functions include:

  • Oversees reservations, scheduling of appointments and ensuring a positive guest impression.
  • Ensures a pleasant visit for each guest or member by acting as the face of the spa and caring for the client’s needs.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the front desk, locker-rooms and common areas. Reports maintenance or housekeeping issues in a timely manner.
  • Conducts tours of the facility and trains GSA’s on effective facility tours.
  • Oversee and administer day to day operational activities of the Vitality Center front desk, spa, locker rooms and retail areas.
  • Ensures guest satisfaction and Quality Assurance of the spa and club experience through training, guest feedback programs, and attention to detail.
  • Works with housekeeping to ensure that facilities are impeccable.
  • Serve as MOD to resolve employee and customer problems and model proper guest service.
  • Strives to maximize revenues through hiring, appropriate scheduling, promotion and advertising.
  • Oversees selection and purchasing of retail for spa and assists with purchasing apparel, food and beverage for the club.

Employment Type: Full Time, Year Round

    Minimum Requirements

    Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university OR at last three years related experience and/or training, OR Equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have demonstrated experience in developing, motivating and disciplining staff. Knowledge and understanding of spa industry and treatments. Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine guest service orientation. Ability to problem solve expeditiously and effectively.
