Engineering Supervisor

Job Summary
Participate in the preventive maintenance program of all-building equipment and rooms. Supervise, train, and inspect the performance of Engineering staff ensuring that all procedures are completed to the hotel's standards. Work closely with Engineering Management in scheduling work and setting priorities. Also make decisions in the absence of Director and Manager of Engineering and act as the backup for calls when there are emergencies.
Duties Include:
- Receives request from Engineering Department management as well as other hotel departments for work order and projects.
- Participates directly in repairs and maintenance of hotel systems, including supervision of engineering colleagues as needed to complete assigned work requests and projects.
- Ensures that adequate communication is provided to affected departments to minimize disruption to guests or colleagues
- Follows Viceroy Snowmass guidelines when working in guest rooms and ensures that notices are clearly stationed indicating that work is taking place in order not to alarm or inconvenience guests
- Has working knowledge of the principles of air-conditioning, refrigeration, heating and ventilation systems, including the ability to troubleshoot and determine the best method of correcting malfunctions and completing prescribed preventative maintenance.
- Provide status updates to Engineering Management. Participate in planning sessions for long lead time projects.
- Participate in hotel committees such as Safety, Sustainability and Service Culture.
- Adhere to the hotel fire, health and safety regulations.
- Follow Engineering guidelines regarding awareness of safety hazards (ie. Broken glass, frayed electrical wires etc) and to report to the Chief Engineer any issues
- Have absolute respect for guest and colleague property at all times
- Practice safety standards at all times
- Monitor responsible care of equipment
- Remain alert, courteous and helpful to guests and co-colleagues at all times
- Provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Always use the correct methods in the utilization of equipment and supplies
- Ensure the thorough cleanliness of all areas of responsibility in accordance with Viceroy Snowmass standards
- Sustain a work environment that focuses on fair and equitable treatment and colleague satisfaction.
- Each colleague is expected to carry out all reasonable requests by management which the colleague is capable of performing.
- Work alongside other staff and ensure that they are performing work that is up to Viceroy standards
- Report any work that needs to be done around the hotel to DOE or MOE to ensure that the hotel standards are met
- Report any colleague accidents.
- Attends on-going training to understand guest expectations and how to achieve and exceed them.
- Understands the impact of Engineering operations on the overall hotel financial goals.
Location: Snowmass Village, CO
Employment Type: Full Time, Year Round
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: $33-35 per hour
Schedule: Flexible schedule, weekends and holidays required

Education/ experience:
- Minimum of 3 years in similar position at a 5 Star Resort beneficial.
- Air-conditioning maintenance qualifications required
- Previous experience working with different types of HVAC and building management systems
- Previous experience maintaining commercial kitchen and food service equipment required
- Certified Pool Operator desirable, or ability to obtain CPO certification
- Knowledge of Engineering and maintenance procedures, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing troubleshooting and safety standards
- Knowledge of hotel operating practices and procedures
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to adhere to deadlines
- Good communication and customer skills (verbal, listening).
