Head Chef

The Head Chef at Stag Lodge Café 52 is a senior chef who is responsible for managing a professional kitchen.  This is a private Resort setting in Deer Valley, UT. Only for residents and guests of the Stag Lodge. Their duties include creating menus, directing kitchen operations and the food preparation process, and checking and approving dishes before they are served to customers.

Responsibilities:

• Planning and designing the menu
• Calculating costs and liaising with suppliers
• Directing kitchen operations and managing kitchen staff
• Overseeing the food preparation, cooking and cleaning processes
• Delegating tasks and resolving issues as they arise
• Ensuring compliance with hygiene and health and safety regulations
• Liaising with the general manager to ensure operations run smoothly
• Ensuring all ingredients are fresh and meet quality standards

Start Date: November 2025

Employment Type: Full Time, Seasonal

• At least 5 years of experience as Head Chef or Executive sous chef with extensive on-the-job experience in a variety of kitchens and different types of restaurants.
• The ability to constantly perform well in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational skills to ensure the smooth running of a kitchen
• Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a kitchen team
• Solid financial acumen, including the ability to manage a budget
• Creativity and superior culinary skills to create exceptional dishes for an establishment’s menu
• Computer literacy, including a working knowledge of relevant software programs, such as a point-of-sale system and Microsoft Office
