Step into the role of Maintenance Operations Manager with East West Hospitality, overseeing maintenance operations across community associations and build-to-rent (BTR) / leasing properties in the Charleston area. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for the overall safety, functionality, and operational excellence of assigned properties. The Maintenance Operations Manager leads and develops a small but growing maintenance team, oversees daily maintenance and repair activities, manages vendors and preventative maintenance programs, and ensures properties are maintained to the highest standards. This role plays a critical part in upholding safety, appearance, and reliability while fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead a small, growing maintenance team while remaining hands-on in daily operations
  • Oversee and perform maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance, and routine tasks
  • Maintain property standards for safety, appearance, and overall functionality
  • Coordinate vendors, work orders, and maintenance projects with strong follow-through
  • Communicate professionally with owners, residents, and internal leadership
  • Manage preventative maintenance schedules and daily operational workflows
  • Participate in rotating on-call coverage and emergency response
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and best practices
  • Take ownership of maintenance issues from start to resolution

Employment Status: Full Time, Year Round

Pay Rate: DOE

Closing Date: 3/31/2026 or until filled

ScheduleMonday–Friday; rotating on-call for after-hours, weekends, and emergencies as required

  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Experience leading or supervising maintenance staff or crews
  • Ability to manage work orders, preventative maintenance programs, and vendors
  • Comfortable using maintenance management systems, mobile apps, and basic reporting tools
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs and responding to on-call needs
