Maintenance Supervisor - St. James Place

We’re looking for a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Supervisor to join the Engineering Team at St. James Place in Beaver Creek, a luxury property in the heart of the village. In this key role, you’ll assist the Chief engineer in keeping every system running flawlessly—repairing, maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting equipment that powers our building, grounds, irrigation, and utilities. You’ll set the pace for excellence, leading by example and training the engineering team through complex projects to ensure our property remains in top condition and every guest experience exceeds expectations. Responsibilities include:
Support Leadership & Operations: Assist and supervise in the Chief Engineer’s absence, helping guide daily workflow, priorities, and team execution.
Maintain & Inspect Systems: Regularly inspect HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, AV, pool, fire systems, and restaurant equipment to ensure functionality, identify issues, and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency and guest experience.
Perform Repairs & Troubleshooting: Respond promptly to repair needs, troubleshoot system failures using available resources, and determine effective repair or replacement solutions.
Execute Preventive Maintenance & Work Orders: Complete routine preventive maintenance across units and common areas, manage and track tasks through preventive maintenance software, and quickly address work orders from guests, owners, and staff.
Ensure Organization & Communication: Maintain clean, organized workspaces and storerooms, properly store tools, and communicate effectively with management, housekeeping, front desk, F&B, contractors, and engineering staff on project progress and issues.

Employment Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Pay Rate: $33 - $38/hour depending on experience. $3,000 hiring bonus paid half after 3 months and the remainder at 6 months.
Schedule: 5 days per week, including holidays and weekends with some flexibility on shift hours

Strong Engineering Knowledge: Solid understanding of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and facility systems, with the ability to apply engineering principles to real-world maintenance needs.
Advanced Troubleshooting Skills: Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues using both experience and independent research.
Analytical Mindset: Skilled at evaluating building systems, identifying current or potential problems, assessing risks, and recommending effective improvements.
Self-Motivated & Proactive Approach: Demonstrates independence, initiative, and strong problem-solving abilities; able to spot issues early and take action without prompting.
Preventive Maintenance Expertise: Experience executing, improving, and documenting preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including accurate CMMS documentation.
Preferred Credentials (Not Required):
Certificate in facilities maintenance or related trade, plus 3–6 years of relevant experience
Licensed or apprentice plumber or HVAC technician
Certified Pool Operator (CPO)
