Ready to take the next step in your culinary career? Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, looking for a Temporary Lead Line Cook to join our team as an on-the-floor Junior Sous Chef. This role is all about leading by example—guiding line cooks, supporting prep and dish areas, and keeping the kitchen running smoothly when the Chef is away. Duties include:

  • Execute all opening kitchen procedures and prep stations for service, including setting up the breakfast line.

  • Lead on the line, cooking alongside team members to maintain pace, quality, and consistency.

  • Coach and guide line cooks in real time to meet shift goals and uphold culinary standards.

  • Supervise shifts in the Chef’s or Sous Chef's absence, keeping service running smoothly and making quick decisions.

Location: The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, Managed by East West Hospitality - Avon, CO

Start Date: 3/1/2026

Employment Type: Assignment lasts through May 30, 2026

Pay Rate: $26/ hour

Schedule: 5:00am to 1:00pm **Must be able to work weekends and holidays.**

Our ideal INTERNAL candidate is legally authorized to work in the United States on an ongoing basis, without a specific end date. Additionally, they bring:

  • 2–4 years of professional cooking experience, including line work in a high-volume kitchen

  • Previous leadership, trainer, or shift lead experience strongly preferred

  • Solid knowledge of cooking techniques, station management, and kitchen organization

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality output

  • ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification (or willingness to obtain)

  • Ability to lift 40+ lbs, stand for long periods, and thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a strong plus

  • Calm, clear, and decisive under pressure; strong sense of ownership

  • Hands-on leader who can jump into any station and coach team members effectively

  • Organized, proactive, consistent, and dependable presence in the kitchen

  • Positive team energy that uplifts others and protects service flow

  • High culinary standards; checks quality constantly and never cuts corners
