At Stoke & Rye, the Food & Beverage department is integral to ensuring the seamless delivery of top-tier dining experiences. This role involves overseeing the kitchen, bar, and catering staff, ensuring quality and consistency. Working closely with the Director of Catering and Wedding Sales, you will manage the restaurant's operations, fiscal performance, service standards, food presentation, and inventory control. Your leadership will set the cultural tone, guaranteeing that our guests enjoy exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Team Development and Oversight: Mentor and develop staff, fostering teamwork and unity. Provide direction and support to employees, assisting managers in understanding and exceeding team members' needs and expectations. Perform duties in employees' absence when necessary. Foster open, collaborative relationships with other departments.

  • Revenue and Profitability: Achieve revenue goals through effective promotion, product management, and pricing strategies. Manage payroll and schedules, maintain budgets, and ensure standards and legal obligations are met. Oversee hiring and performance management, handle disciplinary actions, and ensure labor models align with the budget.

  • Operational Excellence: Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. Oversee administrative tasks, including bookkeeping, training, equipment, food ordering, and maintenance. Manage front and back-of-house teams to provide stellar dining experiences, maintain full menu costing, and develop competitive analysis reports. Maintain vendor contracts and ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of foodservice facilities.

  • Training and Talent Development: Promote F&B talent development through robust training programs. Ensure all employees are properly trained, and staffing levels meet guest service and operational needs. Maintain training manuals, update annually, and develop signature cocktails, local craft beer selections, and wine offerings.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Build and maintain collaborative relationships with other departments. Ensure clear communication of initiatives and quick resolution of issues. Interact daily with guests to promote the brand and gather feedback. Collaborate with the GM on marketing strategies, participate in weekly meetings, and ensure maximum guest service while maintaining high standards.

Employment Status: Full Time, Year Round
Pay Rate: $85,000-$95,000/year, depending on experience


  • 7-9 years of experience in the foodservice industry in managerial and leadership roles, preferably within the resort/hospitality segment
  • Proficient in database, word processing, and POS software for all areas of hospitality marketing and management
  • Proficient in all areas of food and beverage preparation and service; Utilize economic, financial, and industry data to develop successful business strategies
  • ServSafe Certification required
  • Adaptability in high-stress environments with the ability to maintain composure and professionalism
