East West is seeking an experienced Director of Multi-Family Operations to lead leasing operations across multiple residential properties, starting with The Fenland, a luxury build-to-rent community of 50 townhomes on Daniel Island. This marsh-front community, nestled on 5.5 acres, is set to welcome its first tenants in Spring 2025. As part of our expansion into the Charleston leasing market, this is a key role for a leader who can drive occupancy success while delivering an exceptional tenant experience.

As the Director of Multi-family Operations, you will spearhead the setup of leasing strategies, from initial hands-on management to overseeing division-wide operations. You'll collaborate with development teams, establish effective leasing processes, and play a pivotal role in our growth across residential markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement leasing strategies to meet occupancy and revenue goals, analyze market trends, and refine approaches across properties.
  • Operations Set Up & Management: Lead the launch of the leasing division and launch operations of The Fenland, setting up systems, staffing, and managing the lease-up process. Oversee property management software integration.
  • Collaboration: Partner with development and marketing teams to align leasing goals, contribute to design considerations, and drive promotional campaigns.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage leasing budgets, financial projections, and investor reporting while leveraging data analytics for strategic decisions.
  • Team Development: Recruit, train, and lead leasing agents, fostering a culture of accountability and service excellence.
  • Customer Experience: Enhance tenant satisfaction through proactive communication, prompt issue resolution, and strong community relations.

Start Date: November 2024

Employment Type: Full Time Year Round

Pay Rate: DOE

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, or related field; Property management certification (e.g., CAM, CPM) required; Real estate license preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years in multi-family leasing with 3+ years in a leadership role. Proven track record of successfully launching and managing leasing operations, including property management software implementation.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, negotiation, and team-building skills. Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
