Solaris Residences is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join their dynamic team in Vail, CO. The Engineering Manager is responsible for consistently providing well-maintained residences for our owners and guests as well as keeping the overall facility in good condition to ensure a perfect guest experience. The Engineering Manager is responsible for all kitchen and retail space maintenance where they are the primary contact. This is a hands on position where the Engineering Manager will be assisting with work orders 75% of the time.

Primary Responsibility is to direct the daily operations of the department, with oversight from the Director of Engineering. Properly manage all staff, including training, mentoring, and disciplinary issues. Schedule all employees to ensure that there is adequate engineering coverage. Responsible for directing all maintenance on all equipment including the utility systems, administering an effective energy management program, and billing appropriate parties for utility consumption. Monitor the BMS daily to ensure proper operations. Perform final review of all completed work orders on a daily basis and advise the DOE of any problems. Assist the Director of Engineering in managing the department HR functions (paperwork, interviewing, hiring, performance reviews, etc). Assist with payroll, time sheet review and billing in the absence of the Director of Engineering. Ensure adherence to all applicable building codes. Assist the Director of Engineering in directing departmental training programs and compliance with safety and OSHA requirements. Other responsibilities detailed in job description.

Location: Solaris Residences- Vail, CO.

Start Date: ASAP

Schedule: 5 days a week, 2 days off during week - Tues & Weds or Weds & Thurs. Weekends and holidays required.

Minimum Requirements

Prior hotel engineering management experience preferred with a minimum of 5 years hotel engineering experience overall. Must have good verbal and written communication skills, as well as good organizational skills.

Position frequently requires sitting, standing, walking, climbing, stooping, reaching, handling, fingering, and general hand-eye coordination.  Job requires the ability to lift, push, pull, and/or lift weights of approximately 50-100 pounds, such as: furniture, boxes of supplies, tools, snow and ice, etc.  Must be able to use a calculator, telephone, computer, copier, scanner and be willing to learn new technology as applicable.  Must have the ability to learn and operate all hotel computerized systems and programs.  Working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word and other commonly used programs required.

May be performing job duties in extreme (hot or cold) temperatures and also at heights of 9 stories.  Must be able to read and write English, have good vision and hearing (okay with corrections as audio devices or corrected lenses).

Must be familiar with operation and maintenance of a variety of tools and equipment such as but not limited to: fire protection systems, elevator systems, vehicles, chillers, boilers, hand and power tools.

Good understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, IT, AV systems, drywall, painting, and general building techniques needed.
