NOTICE OF FILING OF APPLICATION UNDER THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF LABOR’S
H-2B TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
An application for the temporary employment of foreign workers is being filed by East West Resorts with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) under its H-2B program. This Notice of Filing will be posted for 15 consecutive business days, following the DOL’s Notice of Acceptance of the application for processing.
POSITION, DATES & LOCATION : 111 Temporary, full-time Housekeepers; 12/01/2019 - 04/20/2020; Avon and Vail, CO
DUTIES: Cleaning duties to maintain hotels, private residences and common spaces in a clean, orderly manner. Duties include: making beds, replenishing linens, cleaning rooms and common areas, vacuuming, and other related duties.
PAY & HOURS: $15.49 - $20.49/hour; 35 hours/week; which exceeds prevailing wage, as determined by the DOL; 5 days/week; days vary; work hours generally 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, schedule may vary. Possible overtime to 20 hours/week at $23.24 - $30.74/hour, if employee works over 40 hours/week. Hours equal to 3/4 work days in each 12 week period during the total employment period are guaranteed. A single workweek is used to compute wages due; employees are paid every 2 weeks; all deductions required by law, and none others, are deducted from pay.
COSTS COVERED/REIMBURSEMENTS: EWR will provide, or reimburse cost of, transportation (including meals and necessary lodging) to place of employment, if employee completes 50% of the employment period. If the employee completes the employment period or is dismissed by EWR prior to completion, EWR will provide or pay reasonable cost of return transportation home or to the place employee originally departed to work, and subsistence en route. Cost of transportation/reimbursement is based on the most economical common carrier for the distance involved; subsistent rate will be provided at $12.46/day during travel to maximum of $55.00/day with receipts. In first week of employment, EWR will reimburse H-2B employees for all visa related fees, other than passport expenses. EWR provides employees all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform assigned duties, without charge or deposit.
OTHER: Background check required and takes place post-hire. Housing and daily transportation to place of work are employee's responsibility. All employees are treated equally and are equally eligible for benefits which will be outlined in interview process.
