Position Summary:

The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless and efficient operation of the housekeeping department, with a strong emphasis on maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and security throughout the resort. This position is responsible for supervising and mentoring a team of housekeepers, conducting thorough inspections, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and maintaining swift response times to guest requests and concerns. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, proactive leader with a passion for excellence and a commitment to fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Mentorship:
    • Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of housekeepers, fostering a culture of teamwork, respect, and accountability.
    • Provide ongoing training, coaching, and mentorship to team members, ensuring they possess the skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively and safely.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support employee growth and development.
    • Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of new housekeeping staff.
    • Schedule and assign daily tasks and room assignments, ensuring efficient coverage and workflow.
  • Safety and Security:
    • Champion and enforce all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all housekeeping staff.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and address any potential hazards promptly.
    • Train staff in proper chemical handling, equipment operation, and emergency procedures.
    • Maintain a strong focus on the security of guest belongings and resort property, ensuring adherence to all security protocols.
    • Report any suspicious activity or security concerns immediately to the appropriate personnel.
  • Inspections and Quality Control:
    • Conduct thorough and consistent inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure adherence to Viceroy Snowmass's exceptional cleanliness standards.
    • Provide immediate feedback to housekeeping staff on areas needing improvement and follow up to ensure corrective action is taken.
    • Maintain detailed inspection records and identify trends to implement proactive cleaning and maintenance strategies.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance:
    • Ensure all guest rooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and functionality.
    • Monitor and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and guest amenities, ensuring adequate stock levels.
    • Report any maintenance issues promptly and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
    • Collaborate with the Engineering department to address preventative maintenance needs and ensure the upkeep of all furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
    • Ensure all housekeeping staff are thoroughly trained on and consistently adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all cleaning and service tasks.
    • Monitor compliance with SOPs and provide ongoing reinforcement and training as needed.
    • Contribute to the review and updating of SOPs to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Response Time and Guest Satisfaction:
    • Ensure prompt and efficient response to guest requests, concerns, and service needs.
    • Dispatch housekeeping staff effectively to address immediate issues and ensure guest satisfaction.
    • Follow up with guests to ensure their requests have been met and any concerns have been resolved to their satisfaction.
    • Maintain clear and effective communication with the Front Office, Concierge, and other departments to ensure seamless guest service.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a housekeeping role within a high-end hotel or resort environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and train a team.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Solid understanding of safety and security protocols within a hospitality setting.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and colleagues.  
  • Ability to handle guest requests and resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and property management systems (PMS) is an asset.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.

Start Date: 06/02/2025

Employment Status: Full Time, Year Round

Pay Rate:  $27-28 per hour

Schedule: Require Flexibility

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to spend extended periods walking, standing, and bending.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and various environmental conditions.
