Human Resources Manager - Tahoe
Job Description
East West Hospitality is searching for an experienced HR professional to serve as the HR partner for our Tahoe division. As the HR expert on the ground, you'll play a vital role in shaping the employee experience and driving impactful HR initiatives.
About the Role: The HR Manager serves as the primary Human Resources representative for the Tahoe division of East West Hospitality. In this role, you will implement HR programs and provide comprehensive HR support while ensuring alignment with the company's vision and values. You will manage all local HR functions including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance, training, and general HR administration.
Strategic HR Management:
- Partner with local leadership and EWH senior HR leadership to implement HR policies, programs, and initiatives that support organizational goals and ensure legal compliance
- Execute company-wide HR programs like performance reviews, engagement surveys, and development initiatives
- Collaborate with operational leaders on recruiting and retention strategies to meet staffing needs
HR Administration:
- Manage full-cycle HR processes including recruiting, onboarding, employee files, separations, and general applicant, employee and manager inquiries, via phone, email, and in-person.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws through audits, policy updates, and subject matter expertise.
- Process workers' compensation claims and assist with return-to-work programs.
Employee Relations & Recognition:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, providing guidance and resolution.
- Manage performance management processes, including reviews, disciplinary actions, and improvement plans.
- Organize employee appreciation events and community engagement initiatives.
- Maintain tracking and reporting for employee programs like wellness incentives, anniversaries, and birthdays.
Training & Development:
- Oversee training initiatives, ensuring compliance and educating employees and managers on policies, processes, performance management, service culture, etc.
- Support the professional development of employees and managers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Location: Truckee, CA; In person required
Employment Type: Full Time, Year Round
Start Date: January 1, 2025
Pay Range: $70,000 - $77,000 annually / DOE
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of HR experience, preferably in a hospitality or service-oriented industry.
- Minimum 1 year in an HR leadership role.
- Proven ability to build relationships with operational leaders and drive impactful HR programs.
- Previous experience handling employee issues, complaints and/or investigations.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of California employment laws and regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS/talent management systems; ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Spanish speaking is a plus but not required.
