JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for supporting the Director, Travel Industry Sales to successfully book business within assigned segments including:  luxury consortia’s, wholesale, travel agent and tour operator business.

This position is responsible for collaborating with the Director, Travel Industry Sales and Director of Revenue Management in achieving assigned revenue goals by soliciting past business, seeking new business as well as increasing market share for deployed segments.  In addition, the position will require focus on the new Cirque X Viceroy tower to book and meet monetary goals.

Essential duties include:

  • Acts as a mentor/liaison for reservations team for any booking issues that pertain to position deployment.
  • Direct Sales:  Work with Director, Travel Industry Sales to target results oriented high revenue potential partnerships both domestically and internationally to ensure direct sales program meets goals in accordance with sales and marketing budget and plan.
  • Strategize with Director, Travel Industry Sales to increase business from Mexico, Texas, Florida and Arizona to drive business into Snowmass during summer season.
  • Assist Director, Travel Industry Sales with domestic and international sales missions targeting key accounts in top feeder markets as identified by historical reports and potential emerging markets.
  • Assists Director, Travel Industry Sales with scheduling, coordinating and executing wholesale and travel agent site visits and FAM trips to include:  site rooms, transportation, amenity delivery and coordination with other resort partners.  Assist with client follow up with site visits and FAMS.
  • Assists with preparation of presentations and educational materials to be used in wholesale and travel agent training and communication both internally and externally.
  • Provide support to reservations team in responding to incoming wholesale, luxury consortia reservations lead’s whether by phone or electronic.  Assists with detailing these bookings to ensure booking accuracy.
  • Assists Director, Travel Industry Sales and Director of Revenue with creating transient production reports and assist in evaluating top booking partnerships. Strategize on how to continue to increase market share to resort to offset new inventory coming into destination and the new Cirque tower.
  • Participation in tradeshows, community and professional organizations to maintain resorts’ high visibility in the market and to continually achieve sales and revenue goals.
  • Assist in creating, strategizing promotions for wholesale partnerships.
  • Assist Director, Travel Industry Sales and Director of Revenue Management in maintaining extranets where needed.
  • Assist Director, Travel Industry sales in creating and executing a repeat guest re-booking strategy.
  • Assist Sales and Marketing Coordinator with identifying high touch transient guests and their specific amenities and on property needs in a creative and meaningful way.
  • Assist Director, Travel Industry sales in training staff regarding compliance with such programs as American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts, Virtuoso, Signature Travel Network and GUILD and Global Travel Network, Seredipians.
  • West Coast and South US to include:  Texas, Florida, Arizona
  • Market segments to include:  Wholesale, Tour Operator, Travel Agent, Luxury Consortia and consumer direct
  • International market:  South America  (Ability to travel to S America required)

    Schedule: Flexible schedule, some nights, weekends and holidays required

    Pay Rate: $80 to $85 /eligible for sales incentive plan

  • English speaking, proficient in writing documents and professional correspondence with guests
  • Second language a plus:  Spanish and Portugease
  • Strong computer skills a must
  • Excel, Opera, existing PMS and CRS system skills a must
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally a must
  • Professional attire a must for luxury sales position
  • Ability to negotiate and close business
  • Minimum of 3 - 4 years of hotel sales selling ski destinations a plus
