Join our Beaver Creek Accounting team, managed by East West Hospitality!

We are looking to fill a senior leadership role within our accounting organization as Operations Controller for our Vail Valley team. The Operations Controller will be responsible for managing financial and operational data, developing and implementing financial policies and procedures, and analyzing business performance to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and experience managing financial data for a complex organization.

Duties Include but not limited to:

  • Continuously lead by example creating an environment of comfortable hospitality for teammates, owners and guests. Maintain a positive "open door" communications policy with all staff members.
  • Manage the financial and operational data for the organization, including collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to support decision-making and planning.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and make recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans / strategies to address them.
  • Work closely and in collaboration with other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, bankers, and investors.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring they are accurate and comprehensive.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making, planning and future growth.
  • Manage and mentor a team of financial professionals, providing guidance and support for their professional growth and development.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on financial and operational performance identifying successes and areas of opportunity.
  • Ensure accounting records and appropriate reports are prepared accurately and punctually and maintained up to date (i.e. sales tax, 1099’s).
  • Attend and actively participate  in Controller meetings.
  • Prepare and coordinate reporting requirements and audits by regulatory agencies.
  • Serve as a resource to  all staff for financial systems, questions and results.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Performance management of staff providing constructive and timely performance feedback. 
  • Communicates clearly and often.  Holds staff accountable.  Utilizes collaborative, supportive, and transparent communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others. 
  • Cultivates and maintains enduring relationships, founded in trust, with team members, peers and supervisors.
  • Supports and upholds East West Hospitality’s vision, mission and values and works to ‘do the right thing’ for all stakeholders including our owners, guests, and employees.

Location: Avon, CO

Start Date: ASAP

Employment Type: Full Time, Year Round

Pay Rate: $100,000 - $145,000/year DOE

Schedule: Monday - Friday

  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • Expert in tools used to manage vacation rentals and homeowner systems, including property management, accounting, and reporting software.
  • Experience with process improvement and governance in an accounting and finance department.
  • Accounting degree or suitable industry experience as a Property Controller and experience with computerized accounting operations. 
  • Advanced knowledge of computer systems and Excel.  Candidate would become expert in specific systems in place upon hiring.
  • Ability to resolve problems involving multiple variables in non-standardized situations. 
  • Ability to implement creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to supervise others, excellent accounting and organizational skills. 
  • May occasionally be required to travel.
