Senior Level Maintenance Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced maintenance engineer to play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our premier property. In this position, you will repair, maintain, install, and troubleshoot systems, machinery, electrical and plumbing infrastructure, tools, and equipment. Your efforts will ensure the property’s buildings, grounds, irrigation, and utilities remain in excellent condition, delivering an exceptional guest experience while preserving the Association’s assets. Additionally, you’ll provide leadership and training to the engineering team on specific projects. Responsibilities include:
- Inspection and Evaluation: Regularly inspect and assess systems, machines, tools, and equipment (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical) to ensure proper functioning and identify potential issues.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine preventive maintenance on units, common areas, pools, fire systems, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, AV equipment, restaurant equipment, and special project installations. Identify and address necessary repairs promptly.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose problems using available materials and independent research to determine causes of failure and implement the best repair or replacement solutions.
- Work Order Management: Promptly respond to work orders from guests, owners, and staff to maintain service excellence.
- Organization and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized workplace and storerooms, ensuring tools are properly stored.
- Preventive Maintenance Software: Support the team in implementing and using preventive maintenance software to track asset upkeep and manage work in units.
- Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate effectively with management, housekeeping, front desk, food & beverage, external contractors, and engineering staff to address issues and provide updates on project status.

Employment Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Pay Rate: $29 - $35/hr
Schedule: Monday - Friday, weekends and holidays are possible based on business needs

- Engineering Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of engineering principles relevant to facilities maintenance.
- Analytical Abilities: Skilled in evaluating building systems and structures to identify issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: Self-driven with the ability to independently identify and address problems and implement practical solutions.
- Educational and Professional Requirements:
- One of the following:
(i) Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in engineering, facilities maintenance, or a related field.
(ii) Certificate in engineering or facilities maintenance from a college or trade school, with 3-6 months of relevant experience and/or training.
(iii) Licensed or apprentice plumber or HVAC repair technician.
- One of the following:
- Troubleshooting Expertise: Proficient in diagnosing and resolving issues using available resources and independent research.
